This page explains the cookies and similar technologies used on rgwoodwork.com, why we use them, and how you can control them. We follow the UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR): apart from cookies that are strictly necessary to run the shop, nothing is stored on your device unless you agree.
Changing your choice
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the round cookie button in the bottom-left corner of every page, or by clicking cookie settings. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it, and we delete the optional cookies we can reach when you switch them off. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though the basket and checkout won’t work without the essential ones.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. Some are needed for the site to work; others help us understand how the site is used or remember your choices.
Strictly necessary cookies (always on)
These make the shop work, keep payments secure and remember your cookie choice. The law allows these without consent.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| rg_consent | R&G Woodwork | Remembers your cookie choices and when you made them | 6 months |
| wp_woocommerce_session_* | R&G Woodwork (WooCommerce) | Keeps your basket while you shop | 2 days |
| woocommerce_cart_hash, woocommerce_items_in_cart | R&G Woodwork (WooCommerce) | Keeps the basket up to date | Until you close your browser |
| __stripe_mid, __stripe_sid and similar | Stripe / WooPayments | Fraud prevention and secure card payments at checkout | Up to 1 year |
| wordpress_logged_in_*, wordpress_sec_* | R&G Woodwork (WordPress) | Keeps you signed in if you log in to an account | Session, or 14 days if you tick “remember me” |
The site also keeps a copy of your basket in your browser’s local storage so pages load faster. This is part of the basket and is cleared when your session ends.
